Freshaire
Fresh-Aire UV® is recognized as a leader in the field of indoor air quality. Our award-winning UV light and carbon products fight mold, bacteria, viruses and odors in commercial and residential HVACR systems. Our products include Blue-Tube UV®, the world’s most popular germicidal UV light, the revolutionary APCO® PCO/carbon whole-house air purifier, and Mini UV the first UV light system designed specifically for mini-split AC systems. All of our products are designed and assembled in the USA.
Fresh-Aire UV started as Triatomic Environmental, which was originally formed in 1988 as an engineering company that manufactured ozone generators and other indoor air quality products. In 2001, the company expanded its focus with the introduction of the original Fresh-Aire UV brand of germicidal UVC air handler treatment systems.
January 2003 saw the release of the Pulsed-UV Air Treatment System for single pass treatment of airborne microorganisms for use in commercial applications. In 2004, Fresh-Aire UV released UV Filter, a combined 1” reactive filter media and UVC light.
The hugely popular Blue Tube UV debuted in 2005. This innovative product design features a quick and simple low voltage solution for HVAC contractors to install UVC lights in furnaces and air handlers. Ice UV (for ice machine disinfection) was introduced in 2008 as was the Purity Whole-House system (UVC light combined with MERV11 filtration).
2011 saw the introduction of the APCO line of products which combine UVC disinfection with activated carbon catalyst cells. APCO’s ability to neutralize both biological and VOC contaminants without producing harmful ozone earned it the prestigious 2011 AHR Innovation Award for indoor air quality. Mini UV was also introduced in 2011. It addresses biofouling in mini-split AC systems. It was updated in 2019 to Mini UV LED, one of the first UV LED disinfection products. 2019 was also the year that Purity Low Profile (polarized electronic particulate filtration) was added to the Fresh-Aire UV product line. In 2021 Fresh-Aire UV joined forces with DiversiTech Corporation.
Fresh-Aire UV systems have been tested and validated against bacteria, viruses, mold and fungus. In particular, the APCO system was tested by RTI, a laboratory affiliated with the EPA and a leading research university. APCO was found to safely reduce both biological and chemical contaminants in indoor air. In addition, our UV lights are tested to meet UL standards for safety and ozone production.
